I really just wanted to extend my thanks to you and your team, for what you have brought to the arts community of San Jose. I used to think San Jose had no culture, but now I see that they do. You have put the right ingredients together to stir it up. Keep on mixing! "Dave, San Jose, Ca."
I dropped by the event last week. It was wonderful. I am very pleased with the partnership and the quality of the program. And the attendees seemed to be having a really good time. Thanks for all your hard work! "Dan Keegan, San Jose Museum of Art"
A truly wonderful project with which to be affiliated. "Bryan, San Jose, Ca."
I just want to thank you for letting us represent at Divrscity. It was such a good event. Met some really good people. I just want to also give you props fordoing something good for the community and the artist that live in it. "Gem, San Francisco, CA.
I've been following the movement you guys have been doing. I've been involved and organizing an art collective of my own promoting artist doing live art. I've been inspired by you guys and other artist that do live art. I love the feeling of preforming and expressing myself in front of people, specially give them the opportunity to experience the way art is done in the 'now'. Well anyhow I would like to know how can I be part of the collective, whether is by promoting, supporting, or anyway possible. If my location is kind of a problem...don't sweat it. I'll still be going with the movement. I was hoping to get some tips from you guys on how to improve the way art is done (materials, paint, etc.) and how to get more venues involved. "Javier,Dallas,TX"
This was the best event (and vacation) ever. Meeting everyone and being part of such a great movement and vibe is beyond words. Max Respect. Stay Up! "Matt MWM, Portland, Maine"
Why why why don't you have an east coast counterpart? and don't take that as an opportunity to dog the east coast, cuz ny is the shit, but west coast has it, I know. But really tho, can't you guys spread the word a little faster? We need you out here! Id give anything to attend a session. This is the most wonderful, spirited, positive, inspiring organizations i've come across and hope you guys continue to thrive. Keep it up. I miss you even tho I never had you. "Cat, Brooklyn, NY"
Thanks for existing. "Dave Danchuk, BC Canada"
I just wanted you to know.. In the last month we've had 350 hits at Monkeys With Human Haircuts and I've sold two peices and set up two other custom comissions just because we were advertised through the show. So although you may encounter the occassional pain in the ass, there are those of us who are benefitting from PAC and appreciate your work greatly. Thanks. "T-Y-C, Los Gatos"
Just a quick note from the crew at SJMA to say a huge thank you for an amazing event! We hit 731 attendees and the word-of-mouth on the event was awesome - people young and old alike loved it. "Doniece Sandoval, San Jose Museum of Art"
The organization has come a long way since it started in 2002. In its early days, it would give unknown musicians a shot at small venues such as the old Barbarella boutique in Willow Glen. South Bay artists like post-rock band Day One Symphony and slam poet Mighty Mike McGee got valuable early exposure at such events. "Shay Quillen, San Jose Mercury News"
Though musically a four-piece, the Record Winter becomes a quintet onstage with the addition of Steve's brother, Sean Sczepanik, who rounds out the idea of music and art holding hands by painting along to the band's music. "It's kind of like he's an outside perspective—like he is a part of the crowd," says Steve. This mix of art and music, though not new, has cropped up at South Bay shows over the past few years, most notably at events hosted by Pacific Art Collective, but South First Fridays on downtown San Jose's South First Street art row and even a recent post-fireworks party at the Art Ark Gallery have included on-the-spot art creation. "Claire Young, Metro Newspapers"
The pacific art collective provides a great service to our creative community, thank you. "Brodhi, San Jose, Ca."
I'd like to compliment you on both your site and the motivation behind it - it is very encouraging to see that level of professionalism and clarity of purpose. "David, San Francisco, Ca. "
We're very excited to be considerated for participation in such a well-organized, prominent outreach program for the arts. "Meredith, Los Angeles"
PAC is such a wonderful movement. We (my group) admire what it is about, as well as all the talented artists involed. "Roxy, Las Vegas, NV"
I'm a member of SJMA, and I attended PAC's great event last Friday 8/19. It was a wonderful change of pace. It was great to see Art in action.I really enjoyed the artist ambiance: the painters, bands, the dancers, fashion show, DJ's, and performance poets. It was very exciting seeing all these artists collaborating and doing their thing. I walked from room to room, checking out the PAC shows and the current SJMA exhibits. It would be great if there were more of these types of events. I think it's very enriching. Thanks! "David Hendrson, San Jose"
The Pacific Art Collective wants to expose you to art like it was a virus. The gentle art appreciators downtown celebrating First Friday's third birthday are going to be mostly willing subjects, but they may not be prepared for this level of multi-media, airborne culture. Later, they may wonder why no one asked them to sign a release form. Specializing in ignoring genres, media and geography, the collective presses artists and musicians, dancers and DJs into its militia, discriminating only on the basis of talent. "Beverly Bryan, Las Vegas"
Awful lot of fun last night! You folks are doing a noble thing for san jose - Thank you so much for everything and keep it up, the culturally retarded are depending on you to save them... "Strata, Campbell, Ca."
Last night’s PAC Session at the San Jose Museum of Art was a great event. I had never been to the museum before but now I definately want to go back and look at it in more depth. A lot of the pieces there had technological influences, which makes sense because it is Silicon Valley after all. The musical performances of Day One Symphony and Strata were top-notch, as usual. "Nader, Mountain View, Ca."
PAC is one of the best things to happen to San Jose's cultural scene in the last 5 years. Its great to see a community of artists and musicians coming together to create and showcase culture that San Jose desperately needs to celebrate its eclectic population and their art. "Nate, San Jose, Ca."
You could feel the creative electricity coming through the walls Friday night during the Pacific Art Collective's "Cultural Xposure" event at the San Jose Museum of Art. "Sal Pizarro, SJ Mercury News"
Because of this exposure, I have actually gained 9 new clients, was covered in two local media venues, and sold a one of a kind original jacket to a very special new client who will be wearing a wearable woven piece on an upcoming Fox News Spot. Futhermore, I was also asked to be a part of two fashion events which will showcase my entire Fall 2005 collection in San Jose and San Francisco later this year. And, I even met someone that night who has a relative in Tokyo, Japan that will carry my line there on a retail level. Thank you all again for allowing me the amazing opportunity to have my work exposed to a new artistic crowd. It is opportunities, such as this, that continue to help artist and designers earn the exposure they need to graduate to a new level of success. "Ronnie, San Jose, Ca."
Thank you again for giving us the opportunity to feature at your show, and allowing us to feature in the past. It was a large boost to our confidence so in part you are responsible for us even getting a chance to tour Europe. "Lee, San Jose, Ca.
I really enjoyed the event, it was the first PAC Session I've seen, all I can say is THANK GOD! San Jose hasn't been so good when it comes to art and good people, I've lived here all of my years and I'm always complaining about the scene, so I'm really glad that I found you. "Rose, San Jose, Ca."
PAC session gave us (Program 3), another opportunity to paint and to further explore our artistic collaboration. We had so much fun that night we would absolutely participate again if asked. "Lee, San Francisco, Ca."
That was an awesome show, really cool venue too. We always benefit from Pac session. These are the best shows going on in the area. "Nick, San Jose, Ca."
What you guys do is a blessing in our current cultural climate that marginalizes artistry and creativity. "Rick, Santa Cruz, Ca."
I felt that the PAC session was great!!! I think that the message is positive and awesome/badical. It is unique in the land of people who only take. Its great to hear of a mission that is willing to take it on the chin for a cause. "Mike, San Jose, Ca."
I believe in hard work and dedication in what you aspire to have and accomplish in life. PAC session is that opportunity; its the door for that longing in expressing art and talent as a whole unit building block for the future. It's exposure- it's interactive, its learning and practice for the mind.... I feel PAC is successful in every way. It's professionally handled and very well marketed. "Tara, San Jose, Ca."
I was able to visit your last PAC session on Saturday for the first time. I was very impressed by the energy, artwork, and over all your vision. I have lived in San Jose all of my young life and have not until the past couple of years seen any movement in the arts. Congrats on your accomplishments! I am hoping to bring some of my teens to check out your PAC sessions. Elena "San Jose, Ca."
I'm really trying to focus on my art and do as much as I can so that was very important for me to take part in Pac. Also the fact that it is done in front of people was really a learning thing for me. I noticed that the piece I did evolved 3 different times that night!! "Dane, San Jose, Ca."
What a pleasure it was to be in attendance at the 23nov2k3 event at Barbarella Salon! It was especially cool to include my 13 & 14 yr old kids. As you all know, it is so important to saturate the young with good modeling of productive social activity. What better way to do this than with the weaving of music and art into the very fabric of life's great mystery robethrough up close & personal contact!By bridging artist to appreciative audience to patron right before our eye is a noble endeavour... thank you very much for the team effort to put together the Pacific Art (community) Collective events. good work! peace "Peck, San Jose, Ca."
First, I wanted to salute again your intentions, commitments and efforts. I so appreciate not only what you’re striving to do, but also (and perhaps more importantly?) why you’re striving to do it. We experienced some really provoking and interesting moments last night in paying witness to the creative process unfolding. It was a treat and very inspiring. Thanks again for the great effort and look forward to crossing paths again soon. "Robert, Sausalito, Ca."
You guys are doing a great thing for the community. Keep up the good work! I would love the opportunity to perform at one of your events. "Jerry, Las Vegas, NV"
I just came back from my 1st experience of the Pac Session Event @ ZOE. Even though I didn't win any prizes from the raffle, it was still damn cool! The paintings were nice/interesting and the Dj's were hoppin! I've been wanting to go to one of these events where you can chill, drink, and watch art be created.
I want to somehow get involve with this cultural organization. I believe there are many art students and/or college students in general that would enjoy going to one of these events. It's a total change of scene from a normal club/bar to the average college student, which is cool. And to art students, exposure is awesome and to network with artists/groups in their own community is also great. "Romel, Alameda Ca. "
I BELIEVE IN YOU. KEEP YOUR VISION GOING. YOU'RE DOING THE RIGHT THING------ SO TAKE A DEEP POWERFUL SLOW BREATH AND JUST KNOW AND REMEMBER... THAT YOU ARE DOING AMAZING THINGS FOR THE COMMUNITY, MUSIC & IT'S PEOPLE.......... CRAZZZY LOVE TO YOU, PEACE, "Judy, Oakland, Ca."
I think playing the PAC show was beneficial as it brought us an audience that may not normally go to a rock show. I think as the program grows they will have even more to offer as an event that can really generate some publicity/exposure. "John, San Jose, Ca."
I had a great time playing music and met a lot of cool contacts. If it wasn't for the show I never would have seen how cool Corpus Collosum was. "Dan, Napa, Ca."
I'm glad to hear about PAC doing so well, that's what San Jose needed/needs. "Mitsy, San Jose, Ca."
The event was AWESOME man! Everything i expected and then some. It's good to see that some people like to do things the right way. haha. I can't even begin to tell you all the times I've been invoved in shows that were just completely unorganized. Thank you for inviting me to be a part of your vision. I have a high respect for you Wil. It's a pleasure to know you, and I'll definitely be seeing you at the next one. Dan, Rebecca and I have already determined we're coming out to the next event. "Downtimer, Concord, Ca."
I am an artist and always wanted to show my work. I am really interested in being a part of this. "Michelle"
It's nice to interact with creative individuals, which is why I was interested in the Pacific Art Collective in the first place. "Ulysses, Cupertino, Ca."
I would love to be involved in performing for PAC! "Kristina, Campbell, Ca."
It's a great event with live music, DJ's, performance art, you name it. Well worth checking out. "Natalia, San Jose, Ca."
I really like what your doing with things. I am placing a link from my website to your site. We have so much the same thoughts concerning San Jose and its artists. "Ronnie, San Jose, Ca."
I had my first opportunity to go to a PAC session event in June, it was the June 28th event at the 5 Color Cowboy. I thought it was absolutely refreshing, and something I've been looking for, for a long time. I would actually like to be considered as a live painting performer for future events. I would also like to be considered to display work as well. "Ryan, San Jose, Ca."
I am an Oakland mixed media collage artist. I perused your website and was very impressed by the work you are doing to promote art and artists of all media. I would love to have the opportunitiy to participate in one of your events. "Serena, Oakland, Ca."
I attended your last event to watch my buddy's band play however; I ended up being more interested with the art. I really like what you guys are doing; I think its great that you can put on something like this where the community can come see all this great stuff. "Tony"
YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!.......I had a lot of fun at the event yesterday.....I think it'll be very cool once the word gets out...... "Aaron, Cupertino, Ca. "
What unfolded in San Jose that recent evening was an original and inspiring show orchestrated by Rowan and the emerging Pacific Art Collective. After two years and more than 60 events, the network of young, struggling musicians and artists -- aka PAC -- is creating a vibrant new local art scene and is also introducing hard-to-reach young people to traditional art institutions. "Joe Rodriguez, San Jose Mercury News"
I heard about your institution from a friend and was told about the wonderful support and opportunities to help with communities involving participation with art and education. My goals with your institution as a PAC member are to be proactive with the art community. "Sid, Sunnyvale, Ca."
Glad to hear something like this is happening in San Jose. "thollem, Pacifica, Ca."
It's truly is a thrilling--crazy--exciting--overwhelming and above all, very gratifying experience! I realized this time it is so much more than the piece--it's sharing the process and the experience of the creation that is so cool to provide those that are attending the session. You just say the word and I'd do another one in a minute. "Dane, San Jose"
I like painting in front of people it is like a performance....(secret fantasy to be a "star") I think just getting the chance to expose myself to critics and other artists is helpful to me. And one of the bands asked if I would be interested in painting at one of their gigs...so that is good! "Valerie, San Jose"
I think you are doing everything great. I think this type of event would be successful in a town like Berkeley or Santa Cruz. Wehad a great experience. We would really like to do it again. "Dan, Oakland, Ca."
The Pacific Art Collective and its supporters are doing an amazing service for the unsung heroes of the community. If you haven't been to a PAC Session yet, you have surely felt its presence. Bringing life back to an otherwise sterilevalley is not an easy job. Come show your support, buy some artwork, trade a book, or give back - recite some poetry, make music, dance your heart out. Whatever you do, spread the word. "Zach, San Jose, Ca."
Keep up the good work, thanks for your community art efforts it's gonna really make a difference here in the south bay! "KungFu Vampire, San Jose, Ca."
I had an awesome time painting at your event, and it was really nice to work with you. You are a person who lives up to his nick name (Goodwil)... wish you all the best with everything you are working towards...and I am sure at some point we will work together again. "Jimmy Love, SF, CA"
We had a great time. Anytime you would like us to play for you please give us some dates to fill! "Jim, San Jose, Ca."
The chance to meet and interact with people and telling them about my website and art....very positive experience...Would most cetainly participate again. "Steve, Portola Valley, Ca."
I love the energy of the PAC sessions and the total support of local artists! "Andie"
I was at the last Cultural Exposure event at SJMA and I was excited by everything I saw there. Your group seems too good to be true and I think that my style would be a tailor fit. I would love to become a part of it and get a chance to perform live, which I have done on many occasions. I would love to add my abilities to PAC's mission. "Tyler Cripe, Santa Barbara, Ca."
hi, i went to the p.a.c. event earlier this month and i was so impressed. my friend told me to check it out and i'm so glad i did...i think it's great that so many diverse artists were present and it was nice to see that those in attendance really gave everyone/everything a chance. anyway, just thought i'd share some of my photos. thank you, "sanam, Ca."
